Registration Info

Cosplay contest sign-ups will be on Cosplay Row:

  • Saturday 11am-3pm & 4pm-6:30pm

  • Sunday 10am-12:30 pm

​

Contest is at 3:30pm on Sunday in the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel. Fans coming to watch may arrive at 3:15pm to get a good seat.

Registered contestants and their families - please arrive in costume between 2:45pm and 3:20pm.


Official Rules

 

  • Each contestant must have a badge to the convention and adhere to the convention’s costume and prop policies.

  • It is recommended that all costumes in the Adult Division be at least 50% handmade or altered, and each entrant in the Adult Division must pre-register to guarantee their spot. 

  • We will accept up to 45 entrants for the Adult Division (ages 13 & up) and up to 30 entrants for Kids Division (ages 12 and under). 

  • Entrants in the Adult Division must be onsite, in costume, and ready to go at least 45 minutes before their contest. The room will be open and ready for staging one hour before the contest.

  • Entrants in the Kids Division should show up 20 minutes before, for a “relaxed rules” celebration of cosplay! 

  • If you need any assistance, you may have one person to help you. 

  • No nudity and no profanity. That includes messages on signs, bad language or clothes.  Remember: this is a family friendly show!

  • For safety reasons the following isn’t allowed: projectiles of any kind (darts, pellets, or even water), aerosol spray, pyrotechnics like fire, smoke, or fireworks.

  • No mess is to be left on stage after your presentation.

  • No specific audio will be played for each contestant.

  • Violators of any of these rules may be disqualified from the contest.

Judging Criteria

Judging

 

Contestants will be judged in the following criteria: Workmanship, Overall Appearance, Originality, and Stage Presence.

​

The Adult Division will be broken into 3 categories: 

  • Novice

  • Intermediate

  • Master

​

The Kids Division will be broken into 3 categories by age:

  • 0-4 years of age

  • 5-9 years of age

  • 10-12 years of age

​

Surprise the audience! Surprise the judges! But do not surprise the Contest Organizer. Anything you want to do to captivate the audience/judges should be given the OK by the Contest Organizer and above all, HAVE FUN!
